Dear Church Family,

We hope that your day of Thanksgiving included good food and reflecting on the blessings God has given you this past year. Perhaps you celebrated differently due to Covid, just as many of you are currently living a new normal due to Covid. With this new normal has come a higher degree of isolation and the realization that we all genuinely miss being together in community. As much as we long for our worship time together, we also have to consider the risks. With that said, the elders have decided not to resume services until at least the new year; however, we don't want to lose touch with you in the meantime. Thus we have come up with some ways to feel like you are still part of a church body.

Weekly Messages

In place of getting to hear a sermon during worship service, Pastor Doc or one of the elders will be sending out a weekly message via email to the body. We encourage you not just to read the message but to discuss it with your spouse or someone else in the body so that you might encourage one another in the Word. These messages will be posted on the website for easy access.

Christmas Missions Gift

Even though we are just getting started as a church, the elders believe it is important that we participate in meeting needs beyond our local community. So, as our first Missions gift, we have committed to providing $1,000 to All Nations International to be used to buy rice and other essentials for widows in Nnewi, Nigeria. These fellow believers in Christ face extreme persecution and hardship exacerbated by civil unrest and the devastating effects of Covid 19. We are asking those in our church body to consider participating in this gift. For those able to do so, please mail your contribution to:

Cornerstone Bible Church - 79055 Ladera Drive - La Quinta CA 92253

Make checks payable to "Cornerstone" and write All Nations lnt'I on the memo line.

Men's Thursday Night Study

The Men's Thursday night study is continuing online via Zoom. Contact Pastor Doc for information.

Prayer Requests

During this period, when we cannot physically meet together, it is more important than ever to pray for one another. Please utilize the prayer chain so that we can all know how we can be praying. By the way, we recently had a church member who contracted the Covid virus, but they have now recovered and are back at work. God is good!

Tithing

Believe it or not, one of the most important ways we give God our worship is through our tithes and offerings. It's a demonstration that we put God first in our lives when we put God first in our finances. Even though we are not meeting together for a worship service, we can continue to worship our Lord through our giving. We highly encourage the use of the Tithe.ly option for submitting your tithes. It's a one-time setup for you, and if you use the recurring gift option, it is one and done. It's efficient in terms of personnel time, and it also eliminates the need to hand record payments and take them to the bank for deposit. Some of you may be concerned about the 3% fee charged for using Tithe.ly, but that 3% is more than made up in the efficiency and consistency of use. Instructions for using Tithe.ly are attached to this email and are also available on the website.

If Tithe.ly simply is not an option, you may mail your payments to:

Cornerstone Bible Church - 79055 Ladera Drive - La Quinta, Ca 92253. Make the Check out to "Cornerstone" and write CBCV on the memo line.

Website & Facebook - cornerstonebiblechurch.online

Thanks to the age in which we live, online messaging and posting provide a safe gathering place. We will be posting the weekly messages along with the most current updates and information on the web. There you can also add comments and encouraging words that others can "gather" to read.

As part of our body, we love each one of you and encourage you to continue to grow in the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Blessings, Your Pastor & Elders
